Scientific publication standard · Version 1.2

How causal science becomes a Clinic Terrain monograph.

Identity, biochemistry, cellular mechanism, pharmacology and integrated physiology build the explanatory chain. Human statistics are retained as a terminal, context-bound test, not promoted above the science that makes them interpretable.

Scientific hierarchy

Causal depth carries the model. Human observation adjudicates its final translation.

I

Biochemical identity

Sequence, chemical form, molecular construct and route define the entity to which evidence can be attributed.

II

Mechanism and target

Receptor, interaction, pathway and cellular consequence describe causal biological plausibility.

III

In-vivo pharmacology

Exposure, distribution, half-life, metabolism and target engagement test whether the mechanism is reachable in an organism.

IV

Integrated physiology

Tissue state, feedback, substrate availability, phenotype and longitudinal response determine what the organism does with the mechanism.

V

Controlled human stress-test

Comparative data estimate a terminal effect for a defined population, dose, route, endpoint and time window; they do not create the causal model.

VI

Uncontrolled human signal

Case reports and observational signals generate questions but do not determine effect size or causality alone.

01

Entity resolution

Evidence is assigned only to the exact molecule, construct, route and exposure studied. Analogues, fragments, combinations and commercial names do not inherit one another’s evidence.

02

Claim-level verification

Bibliographic identity is checked before use. Quantitative claims are matched to the corresponding source record; abstract-level verification is never described as full-text verification.

03

Counterevidence

Negative findings, neutral trials, route limitations and unresolved safety questions remain inside the synthesis. They are not removed because they complicate a biological narrative.

04

Version control

Every publication carries a version, publication date, evidence cutoff, named author, medical reviewer and permanent URL. Material corrections require an updated version and modified date.

05

Authorship

The named author is accountable for conceptualisation, evidence synthesis, interpretation and drafting. Medical review evaluates clinical coherence and does not masquerade as independent journal peer review.

06

Commercial separation

Clinic Terrain provides clinical services. That institutional relationship is disclosed. Service availability, sourcing and regulatory status remain separate from claims about molecular mechanism or clinical effect.

Rules of scientific attribution

How evidence is allowed to travel.

These corpus-wide rules are stated once here. Each molecular monograph then applies them to its own identity, route, exposure and weakest translational link.

01

Identity is an experimental variable

A peptide name is not sufficient attribution. Primary sequence, terminal chemistry, conjugation, metal coordination, formulation and route can change stability, distribution and molecular interaction. Evidence belongs to the entity actually studied; an analogue, parent peptide, fragment or commercial nickname cannot silently inherit the same pharmacology.

02

Concentration precedes biological plausibility

A pathway observed in cells becomes translationally relevant only if the administered entity reaches the necessary compartment at a compatible concentration and for sufficient time. Nominal dose is not tissue exposure: proteolysis, binding, clearance, absorption and intracellular access can interrupt the chain.

03

Mechanistic depth is causal, but bounded

A demonstrated reaction, receptor interaction or signalling response is genuine evidence for that causal step. It should not be demoted because a phase-3 programme is absent; it must remain bounded because target engagement does not automatically establish a beneficial organismal outcome.

04

Human validation answers a different question

Controlled observations estimate whether a specified intervention changes a specified outcome in a specified population. They contribute effect magnitude, variability and counterevidence, but do not identify the molecule or explain its mechanism by themselves.

05

Negative translation narrows rather than erases

A negative human study can refute the proposition tested at its dose, route, population and endpoint. It does not reverse a correctly demonstrated biochemical interaction. Conversely, mechanistic coherence cannot overturn a failed clinical proposition.

Reference-verification statement

What “verified” means here.

No database is treated as an authority by itself. Identity claims are checked against molecular and structural records; enzyme claims against biochemical sources; target claims against pharmacological records; and bibliographic identity against the relevant index. Quantitative claims are checked against accessible primary reports, abstracts or full text with the access level stated honestly. A source is selected for its claim-specific scientific relevance, not for the prestige of the database that indexes it.
